NEW MUSIC VIDEO

Waterloo Sunset cover by Hiatus featuring Alexis Taylor

I was asked by my good friend and lifelong collaborator Cyrus Shahrad AKA Hiatus to film a simple music video for the beautiful cover of Waterloo Sunset he had created with Alexis Taylor of Hot Chip.
We had a few hours on a busy summer's evening to film Alexis singing on and around Waterloo Bridge.

Cyrus: “I had a dream that my old friend Alexis Taylor and I recorded a cover of Waterloo Sunset by The Kinks. I told Alexis, and he suggested we do it, so we did. The video is by Spencer Murphy, there’s a link to the full thing in my bio. Thanks to Alex for the mix, Kevin for the master, Ruth at Time Based Arts for grading the footage and Ray Davies for writing one of the greatest songs of all time.”

Waterloo Sunset is streaming now.

NEW MUSIC VIDEO

Fence by Still

Music video for Fence, the first single from the Still album. Taken from a previously unreleased documentary I made about a group that gathers at a table tennis table in Hackney, East London. The film stars the regulars of the table in Hackney, to whom I’m grateful. Thanks also to director of photography Tom Turley, producer Kyle Lynd, colourist Mark Horrobin and Steve Knight for supporting with camera equipment.

Fence is streaming now.

DOCUMENTARY PHOTOGRAPHY

This Bitter Earth

Over a period of eight years I have been documenting some of the wildfires in the UK, during the hottest and driest summers of 2018, 2022 and 2026.

During the heatwave of recent weeks, I felt compelled to document some of the devastation being caused by wildfires in the UK. I visited the site of the Dunwich Heath wildfire in Suffolk, which destroyed 150 hectares of rare heathland and caused a loss of critical biodiversity. I also shot the aftermath of the Llangynidr Mountain wildfire, which caused severe ecological damage, scorching over 400 hectares of upland habitat and the destruction of the ancient peat bog ecosystem. These were only two of around 1000 wildfires in the UK this year, part of a wider conflagration that is raging around the world.
